What do you actually spend on Christmas lights?

If you already hire installers each year, the comparison is not permanent lighting versus nothing — it is one larger payment versus the same payment again every November.

Install, maintenance, takedown and storage combined.

This is a comparison, not a quote. The permanent range shown is based on our experience that a system often lands near three to four seasons of professionally installed temporary lighting — but that depends heavily on the house, the roofline, and what is being compared. Treat it as a way to think about the decision, not a payback guarantee. The real number comes from walking your roofline.

What the numbers leave out

Cost is only part of it. A permanent system also removes the annual ladder work, which on a two-story Eastside home with steep terrain is the part most homeowners actually want to stop doing. It works for Halloween, Diwali, game day and birthdays rather than one holiday. And it can be dimmed, which matters in neighborhoods with expectations about exterior lighting.

On the other side: it is permanent hardware on your house. Poor installation stays visible year-round, and serviceability depends on the system being modular. Those are the reasons we quote in person rather than over the phone.
