Service & repair

Built to be serviced, not replaced

Nothing on the outside of a house lasts forever. What matters is whether a failure five years from now is a visit or a re-installation.

What happens when a strand fails

  1. 01

    We identify the section

Addressable systems make this straightforward — a failed strand is usually visible as a dark run or a section behaving differently from the rest.

  2. 02

    Covers come off

The trim covering that length of track is removed to expose the wiring and connections underneath.

  3. 03

    The strand is replaced

The affected strand is swapped using the compatible connections. Not the whole run, not the whole roofline — the section that failed.

  4. 04

    Covers go back on

Trim reinstalls and the wiring is concealed again. From the ground, nothing about the installation has changed.

Why modular matters more than it sounds

On a sealed or fixed-length product, a single failure can mean replacing a much larger section — sometimes the entire run. Whether a system can be individually serviced years after installation is a design decision made before you buy it, and it is rarely on the box.

We install modular systems specifically because we warrant our workmanship for three years. A system that cannot be serviced is not really warrantable in any useful sense.

What the warranty covers, and what it does not

Our three-year warranty covers labour and workmanship: track placement and attachment, how the wiring was routed and concealed, how components were mounted and connected. If something we did comes loose, sits crooked or was fitted wrong, that is ours to correct.

Lighting components carry their own manufacturer warranty on the manufacturer's current written terms. Those are theirs to set and can change, so we go through the current documentation with you rather than paraphrase it or make commitments on their behalf.

Neither covers damage from outside the installation — storms, falling limbs, roof or gutter work by others, or modifications to the system. And it is worth saying plainly: no permanent lighting system is maintenance free. What a modular professional installation buys you is that maintenance is a service call rather than starting over.
